The following is repeated from the previous caption:

The red-bordered insignia was adopted on 29 June 1943 and dropped on 14 August of the same year. The official instructions for the new insignia read: “The National Insignia shall be an Insignia White five-pointed star inside an Insignia Blue circumscribed circle with an Insignia White rectangle, one radius of the Blue circumscribed circle in length and one-half radius of the Blue circle in width, on each side of the star and the top edges placed to form a straight line with the top edges of the two star points; and an Insignia Red border one-eighth radius of the Blue circle in width outlining the entire design.”

On 14 August 1943 the Red border was replaced by a Blue border and that was the standard until January 1947.
